How to create new ad unit in google Adsense Account to earn money

Google’s AdSense is a shared earning opportunity for small to large scale websites that place ads for goods and services that are significant to the content of your site, targeted to the internet users who visits your website pages frequently. In return, you are paid by google AdSense program a few buck whenever the ad that is displayed on your website at specified page clicked once. Here are some guidelines and ideas that will be beneficial for increasing your AdSense earnings.

Creating an Ad Unit

Sign in to your AdSense account (create new account if not existed).Go to AdSense, and click on “ads” in the left sidebar children menu will be expand.

Click on “Ad Units” to manage Ad Units.

Now In main screen, under Content > Ad units, click on the“+New ad unit” button to create new ad.

Select ad type according to Ad Position on your website.

Google has categorize it in three types.

1. Text & Display ads: A simple way to get ads on your page. Choose the size, placement, and style you want to display.
2. In-feed ads: Ads that will placed within the placeholder of your article or product list as list item on your site
3. In-article ads: Ads that  will placed in between the placeholder of your single article content area of your pages.

Give appropriate Name to your ad unit

It will be helpful when the list grows if you give good name with specific format for all ad.  Like website_adtype_adSize_Location is one example. But you can set any specific format that make you understand for large data.

Select size of Ad

Select the most appropriate size for your ad according to your placeholder on of your website page where you want to place this Ad. If you have no idea then select “Recommended” to lets decide by google Adsense.

Select Ad Type for the Content

This option tells which type of content you want google to display on your website. google recommends “Text & display ads“. options can be Text only, Text and Display, Display only.

Create a custom channel

 A custom channel lets you group ad units however you choose, such as by size or location on a page.You can generate performance report by your created channel.

Select or Create your ad style

In this option you can select the ad styles or can create new custom style created by your own for the ad.  You can set various style properties for your ad like: title, background color, border, text styles. This option make you enable to create style whose appearance better match with your website theme.

Save and Get Code

before saving it, Select the alternate if this ad is not displaying in any case. Now Click on “Save and get code” to have your code to place in your website placeholder for ad.

Now you can copy the code and paste it to your website placeholder where you want to Place ad.
